Default a/f gauge install - which wire?

Which wire (O2 sensor) can I tap into underneath my hood or in the car for my a/f gauge? I don't wanna run a wire from under the car, and I have no clue which wire it is under the hood; does it run under the carpet anywhere?

Right. It'll be the solid white wire and it will be slightly larger than the rest. Your ECU is located under the passenger side carped, you'll need to remove the bracket holding it in place.

So I got under there and looking at the ecu w/ it bolted to the floorboard, there were two solid white wires, both about the same size as the rest of them:
-One was in the middle group/plug of wires, and was brighter white
-The other was on the bottom group/plug of wires, and was a darker, beigish color.
I tapped into the one in the middle, and the light just stays all the way at rich, like it did before I hooked the signal wire to anything. Does the car have to warm up for a while to get the signal, or should I try the white wire towards the bottom? I need to know, i got the pass. side tore out

When it's warming up, it'll be in open loop mode for a little while which means the light will stay solid (I believe stock ecu's run rich at warmup). You need to actually get out and drive around for a while, give the ecu time to go into closed loop and then it'll start polling the O2 (and you should see the light go back and forth)...

ok; i'm now at work and I drove it about 25 miles and it got good and hot (trust me!) and it still stayed all the way rich like no signal. SO....I'm gonna check my connections, try the other wire, and then if all else fails, trace the wires from the O2 sensor into the car. Does anyone remember where at in the harnesses the white wire was? like I said before, I see two solid white ones.
