Default Engine question

Im' sure everyone on here is familiar w/the jdm type S motor (H22A-S 97-01).
Well my question is is it possible for the internals of the H22A-S to be put in a H22A1 (92-96) and is it possible for those same internals to go in an H23 motor.
Also I have a major oil leak, its the cam seal that is leaking, should I just fix that and rebuild my engine or just put a h22 in.
Also can someone plz tell me what is the difference b/t a longblock engine and shortblock, and what comes with each.

Default Re: Engine question (dwnsthGABOY)

the type s piston are a larger bore than regular h22 pistons. as far as the h23 i dont know.

a long block is basically a complete motor a short block is just the block and head

a cam seal is about as easy as it gets when it comes to seal. no need to rebuild for a cam seal. unless you have other issues
