Is the VTEC Switch Wired? Is it Broken? Does VTEC Engage?

Fix the EGR, sometimes one component can disable another resulting in a second CEL.

vtec engages in first but in anyother gear it wont, i can only audibly hear it, i bought the car swapped but i was told it was an o2 sensor that was setting it off, out of curiosity i ran the code and voila. vtec is wired, i am playing with the vaccum lines to the egr atm

Are you using a US ECU with a JDM VTEC solenoid?

USDM has an oil pressure sensor on it, JDM doesn't.

The EGR will not affect Vtec engagement on a stock ECU. Same thing with O2 system. You can throw codes for the EGR and o2 and your vtec will still engage.
