k i have a 97 lude
when its on idle the battery is draining until 11.8 volts
but once i step on the gas it start charging up to 13 to 14 volts
got my alternator check and its ok
fuse ok
battery ok
wats next? short on wire harness????or open??

 

ummm, your battery is fine....When you're gassing it, yeah your battery is being charged cause you're turning the alternator which then charges up your battery, which then will push out more voltage

 

no but it wont power my audio system
and during night time when its draining the headlights are dim
when i gas it they are bright

 

is it 11.8V with your system on? if so the stock charging system wasnt designed to handle the extra load

 

how much audio crap do you have??

what size battery is it?

 

just 400 watt amp
2 10" thats all
