Electrical Problem?

Electrical Problem?
I have a problem, I have my car at a friends house, who is painting it for me. So, I get this call: "Hey man, You got a problem! you here this: CLICK CLICK CLICK! thats coming from your car!"
It is not running and keys were out and when he unhooked the battery it stopped, he says it is coming from the firewall where the steering column goes though, I was thinking relay or something, This FREAKING ME OUT!
