ok 96 vtec ecu runs peak and hold injectors.... will it run on a 97plus lude with saturated injectors? Is it not the resistor pack which determines this or the ecu itself? Can I run an OBD2 96 ecu on a 97+ lude?

Yes, I think a 96 ecu will run a 97+ prelude, straight plug-in. Yes an OBD1 P72 ecu can run low resistance injectors with a resistor pack, and can run a 97+ prelude with an adapter harness and chip.
