Default ecu question

quick question abut ecu's plz help without flaming me for not searching cause i did and still dont understand anyways so i wanna run hondata s200 on my h23 i kno i need a new ecu i was either gonna get a p72 or p28 they both have to be chipped to accept it and do i have to wire to run a non vtec motor or no?? if so how do you do it or should i just have someone in my area put it in??

Ill prob go with the p28 but how do you wire to run non vtec if i even have to for everyones info im getting research and info on a turbo h23 build im planning

I would just use something like a P75 ECU, which is an Integra LS ECU. It's cheaper tha P72 and P28 usually.

I wrote a helpful thread on this, it's listed in the prelude FAQ......

Answer: No, you have no extra wiring to do. You can use a P72 or a P28, the difference being whether or not you have knock sensor and IAB capability. As for using them on an H23 motor, no, there are no wiring changes. Your tuner simply won't use the high-cam portions of the maps for timing and fuel.

As mentioned earlier, you can find a P75 if you'd like and use that (it doesn't have the capability to control VTEC) it'll be cheaper.....
