Default ECU help

I have a 96 prelude s and swaped in a jdm h22 and used the jdm obd I p13 ecu with a conversion harness. now i need to get the car smoged and havent been able to find an obd II ecu from a prelude. My question is are there any other obd II ecu's I could use just for smog? or does anyone know of a place where I can find the obd II ecu for a 96 prelude. Its only going to be used for 1 day to get the car smogged, then I'd be going back to the jdm p13.

any help is appreciated

I would have to recomend you buy one from someone. That way (just in case you need it again) you have it. Also if you sell the car it would be wise to have it for the buyer.

Good luck

So they actually look at the ECU? Wow that sux. If they just measure emisions then you should be able to pass with the OBD 1 ecu. Just a matter of time until the thought police will be checking us out... maybe with the PATRIOT act part 2.

with the some of the emissions testing, they plug RIGHT INTO YOUR ECU if you're OBDII

i've been trying to figure out the same thing, if i can an obd-2 ecu but people have said they have immobilizers so it won't work, so i don't want to blow $200 buying one only to find it doesn't work, i can't pass emissions either and it sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

government has gotten way too big

vote BUSH (not perfect but liberals just keep adding and adding to the government, it is outta control, we hired them but they are telling us what to do, what is next an emissions test on our toilets, "sorry buddy, you ate too many beans recently, i'm getting a very high CO2 gas reading from your butt, that could endanger the spotted owl, just pay this $300 fine and you will be all set, until then you are not allowed to use the bathroom"

immobileizers? so are you saying an obdII ecu wont work on an obdI engine? or that it needs to have the immobilizers moddified or in some way removed before use?

96 USDM p13 ECUs are OBD2 and did NOT come with an immobilizer, so you can use that for your smog. 97 and up have immobilizers, which I've been told you can get it reprogrammed for your key at the dealership but I've never heard of someone successfully doing it.
