Default which ecu is better???

would a chipped p72 work good on an h22?? it is healthy for the for vtec to be at 4400 and iabs to be at 6500?cus ive seen graphs of the p13 and p72 compared and it looked like the p72 was better hp. what im tryin to get at is.. if im gonna get sumone to chip me an ecu, should i tell him to set the iabs/vtec as it would be for an h22 or as for a p72?? what and where would be the best combo?? thanks in advance

The p72 and the p13 are very simliar in design, there would be no point in going to a nonprogrammable "chipped" p72 rather than a p13 there would be no advantages. If you are planning doing some real tuning instead of this guessing, you can get a somewhat decent tune from a chip but nothing like you could with a hondata, you could convert your harness to the p72 and get the programmable hondata chips for it to tune properly, placement of the secondary butterflies and vtec enguagement isnt nearly as crucial as from A/F

well im not really lookin into crazy tuning, jus a good ecu to run over my stock obd2 ecu. i hear that p13s arent able to be hondata'd. so p13s arent really my choice. i want a p72 that runs nicely and to be later tuned.

there is no good ecu to run over stock for an H22a. Buy a V-AFC and tune it if you want performance gains. All chipped P72s are ****.

jus satan ur really biased. ive notice that u really hate chipped ecus, heh. put it this way... i want a good p72 to run my motor. ive read about how the p13s arent good for 97+ motor due to the difference in injectors. i forget exactly wat it was about.....

I'm biased because I don't use shitty ecus?

I run a CUSTOM chipped P72 on my built motor right now. Custom though, not some stupid mugen program.

The p13 won't run well on your car because it feeds 330cc injectors and you run 290s. Any P72 will have the SAME DAMN PROBLEM. GS-R has 240cc injectors...so any chipped p72 will have totally screwed up fuel.

I'm not biased, I'm just not stupid.

lol @ this post.

If you want a good chip to start out with get a stock p28. Up your fuel pressure, if you can to about 38psi, then tell me if you like how it runs.. After that you can choose to get a chip that has advanced timing and fuel to fit your engine specs or hondata and get a custom tune to your whole setup..

Getting a p72 is a waste in my own oppinion.

I would recommend a hondata, if you're think you're up to the challenge you could get a AEM EMS(and up the to price) You can get a Hondata P72 or P28, I believe the only differences you will is no control over the secondary butterflies, I doubt you will see too much difference in the hondata ecus, the p72 is just alot more expensive

i'm running a p28 with the IAB's stuck open...there's honestly not much of a difference down low...though i do have custom fuel maps made to suit the h22...it tugs nicely in vtec...
