I just swapped my 2.0 for a jdm 2.2vtec (obd2=>obd2) and had no problems the first few hundred miles, but after i stopped for some lunch after a few days i suddenly got the error codes 7 and 30. and I noticed the rpm would automaticaly go to 2000, even when I braked to 1000rpm it would just go up again, so I can acually shift from 1 to 2 to 3 without even touching the throttle. So my first guess is that I have a auto ecu with a manual transmission. but I can't explain why the errors only showed up after about 300miles

37820-P5M-N51
079-101800

anyone have any idea what might be going on?

 

Yeah, thats an auto ECU. The N51 shows that its auto. That has to be a number less than 50 to be manual. Usually starts with 00. As far as it just now happening, you've got me on that one.

 

I would say see if you can reset it an drive a while longer while you try to find a manual ecu.

 

think i'll just convert it to a manual, there's a sweet write-up here on h-t which uses a p5m as an example so that shouldn't form any problem

 

Doing the jumper swap to convert it to manual is the way to go.
