Ebrake light coming on
k i've done a search and dug up an old topic about this.. i got help on tightening my ebrake lines and checking my brake master cylinder.. my ebrake line couldn't be tightened any further, and my brake fluid is at the perfect level.. exactly in the middle.. so i don't get what's causing my ebrake light to go on.. friend told me that my lines might be stretched out and i have the regular brake lines ready to be installed. but i'm wondering if it's possible that i have to replace my ebrake line? cuz i used the ebrake to **** at the track to *** drag my car.. anyone have any idea which lines need the most immediate attention?
If you take off the center console you can easily see the sensor for the e-brake light. It's on the passenger side of the actual e-brake where it meets the frame.
Just take a look at that sensor, use some common sense, and you can probably adjust it how you want it...

i can remember if Hondas do this, cause ive never encountered it on any i've had, but on my old BMW, the brake light came on whenever the fluid was low, so might wanna check that
It might be your brake light sensor, located above the brake pedal. Its the sensor that makes your brake lights turn on when you press on the brake pedal. Take a look under there and see if the little "button" is sticking in on the sensor. It should look like a small cylinder shape, gold, and its held on with a lock-nut. Mine started sticking, and I bought a new one... @$30 if i remeber right.

Yeah it's prolly the fluid. I went through this before. Fluid level looked like it was high enough, it was above the min mark but just below the max. I topped it off and it went out. Also check the wires that come off the cap of the brake fluid reservoir. I doubt it would cause the brake light without the ABS light but you could check your ABS fluid level as well.
BTW - 4th gens have a separate dash light for the brake lights so I doubt it has to do with that.
What fluid are you using? I'm not sure if it would cause the light to come on or not.... Never tried putting something like DOT5 in to see.

i don't know what kind of fluid is in there.. haven't changed it before. Should be whatever stock fluid is supposed to be in there.. and as for the brake sensor above the brake pedal.. is there any way to fix it without spending money on buying a new button?
Use DOT3
You don't want to put DOT5 in unless you flush and clean the entire brake system, as it doesn't mix will with DOT3/4. Most cars and shops just use DOT3 regularly, so that's what I would stick with! HTH
