ebrake conversion
alright guys ive searched and read the results but the wirteups have seemed to dissappear over the years anyone have one to convert to the 94+ ebrake console thing from a 92 93 lude?
yes.
parts list:
console
cupholder (thats why youre doing this right? we should dub this the cupholder mod instead of pussyfooting around the issue at hand)
ebrake
parking cables*
tunnel cover*
* = optional
the earlier 4th gens have shorter parking brake cables, swapping cables is the oem replacement way as is replacing the sheet metal frame that gives the hardware for the center console and such to connect to the tunnel. swapping the metal frame over the tunnel is the cleanest way to do it and everything will line up perfectly and the ebrake will work the same way by swapping in the 94+ cables.
* is optional because... you can fab up a sort of extension to the existing cables to the parking lever. you can also fab up a way to mount the lever itself, you will have to move its mounting hole locations to mount the lever for the new console.
i do not have pictures of either way. i did the swap on my 92 but i swapped the metal tunnel cover. others have fab'd up ways to make it work without drilling spot welds and welding but i tend to overdo things even if you will never see them.
