Ebay Coilover Fix?
ok so when i bought my car it had these cheap ebay coilovers and i havent had the money to replace them yet, but i had an idea. so the spring is about 8" tall and when the strut is fully extended it can bounce up and down.. which also means that there is to much pressure on my struts (which is why they are blown) but my buddy bought some for his tercel and they are about 4-5" and i was thinking of taking mine and his and compressing them together so that there is more pressure being relieved from the strut.. does this sound like it would work?
don't replace them. the reason your struts are blown is because the guy that had the car before you either 1. dropped it too low, or 2. went over curbs and what not. if i had it to do all over again, i would have gotten ebay coilovers and saved myself some money.
what kind of struts are they? koni has a lifetime warranty, and i'm sure there are other places that have lifetime warranties. if you don't have one that does, buy you some that do. don't half do your suspension; bad things can happen that make you wreck.
your motor isn't the best thing to go cheap on, but if something goes wrong, you're just out a motor.
