my sisters boyfreind just put e85 in the tank on top of 87 octane fuel what adverse effects will this have on the car?

To the op, you should drain or syphon your e85 out (and than make your ahem sister's boyfriend drink it too) and replace with 91 or so octane which is the proper fuel for your motor.

I can't believe this lol, what are people thinking

get that e85 outta there before you even start it again... taking a (likely) chance of blowing a motor isn't worth a $50 tank of gas.

I'm going to play dr. phil and suggest a more competent boyfriend for your sister.. Every E85 pump i have ever seen has a sticker ON THE PUMP NOZZLE that reads: 'STOP THIS IS NOT GASOLINE' Not to mention all the yellow all over everything... man..... wow...
