This is a run for a basically stock 1997 JDM type S Prelude only mods are mugen headers and K&N panel filter.



Max power = 127KW
A/F ratio = 12.7 – 13.6

I am concerned about the car been too lean and want to find out the possible causes of this. I noticed a lot of water spewing out the exhaust and quite a lot of black smoke at high rpm (6000rpm+). I’m currently having some issues with “possibly” my injectors between around 2500-3000rpms there is a loud ticking sound coming from the engine bay.
Any comments or help would be appreciated thanks.

could you get a graph by rpm? and SAE correction?

Anyways that's 170.3whp...sounds kinda low for a 'type-s' if you ak me, what was the temperature?

Anyways personally I don't think 13.6 is too high...look at mine I go that high quite often. I need to do a little fine tuning but it's fine

 

Yea type S motors make around 185 to 190 to the wheels stock.

Black smoke from exhaust=Rice fuel mixture
Mist from exhaust= water vaper
White Smoke=Coolant
