durability: my prelude engine
How well is the stock engine of my 87 Si wit 50k going to hold up????? If I start pouring in the greenbacks is my motor going to explode. I'm talking about a massive stroker kit and possibly some forced induction way on down the line. I'm looking for an excess of 200HP eventually but can my block handle the massive builing?
yeah man, when you have such an old engine (87) and you wanna go all out in it, you would really be better off with an engine swap, with a H22a engine, u will already be at 200hp, and it would cost WAY less than if u were to mess around with your current engine and bump it up with turbo. Also, with a better engine, u get much more potential! think about it!
It all depends on how much you value/love your car... don't take this the wrong way but I think you'd be better off selling and getting a newer car. Trying to stuff an H22A might be more hassle than it's worth.
think about what car he has, its an 87, the last year of the 2nd gen, if a B16 barely fits and tahts with a SHITLOAD of modification ( only 3-4 of them ever swapped ) and you all are suggesting a H22......HAHA, good luck with that swap.......
yes the block can handle that power if you build it, but i can only assume that about 98% of the work into that will be custom.but with the money and the time, i can see it.
also look into swapping the B16, there was a vid posted on here a day or two ago of a B16 2nd gen prelude, quite nice.
