driving with torn boot
if i drove aroudn with a torn boot for about 3 weeks..
edit: also drove in the rain for 2 days
do you think the axle is busted? i had no idea it was torn.. it was making clunking sounds while turning or when i was going fast on the highway.. leading me to think it was the tranny.. but now that i have pinpointed the problem.. i was wondering if i should take the cheap way out and go with a cv boot repair ? with grease and such..
or should i just get an entire new axle ..

If you do not hear a clicking noise when you turn than there is a good chance that the axle bearing is okay. If it is, than just replace the torn cv boot. Don't try to repair the torn boot, replace it. They cost $15 at your local parts store. You will have to take the axle off to replace the boot.
