Distributor/Spark Plug Wire Timing Probelm
I have a 94 swapped JDM H22a, and I just got the distributor replaced. I also replced my wires and put them in 1342 order from left to right and think I put them on the diz cap right: bot left=1, bot right=2,up left=3,and up right=4. The mechanic that replced my distributor degreed the distributor for the timing of an H23 b/c hes an idiot and looked up the car's VIN #. When i start the car it just jolts and dies. I have new clue what the probelm could be. I mean the distriutor is off but I dont think it would expletive my timing off by that much and I think the wires are in order. If you have any clue what this could be plase help!
according to my trusty helms:
top right: 1
bottom right: 3
bottom left: 4
top left: 2
that would be why your car doesn't start. correct firing order is 1,3,4,2 if going clockwise around the dizzy.
oh, and the connections of the spark plug wires: if you look at your engine bay from the front of your car. from RIGHT to LEFT it goes 1,2,3,4.

what kind of dizzy did you buy? internal coil or external? if you're running internal, it has to be rigged a certain way to work i believe.
make sure that you have a coil, somewhere....
if the harness plugged up to it, then its external coil...so you need to have your coil hooked up...
ill look at my car this afternoon after class for ya but im almost sure that ^^ is right...

alright i got the bastard to start but the manual says that it should idle at 15b but its at 10 i tried to adjust it by using the distributer but it can only adjust up to 10b. do you think its the timing should i reset it all back to tdc or is there something else wrong? and another question the only senors on the manifold that i have running is the mapsemsor iacv and the intake temp... i have al the line plugged going to the driver side of the engine compartment.... but i was wondering if i needed those lines connected for the motor to idle properly? basically behind the cruise control theres a siloniod with a vacum line connected to it so i need to run that or can i remove it. theres also a green vale looking thing next to it.

You need to have the service connnector connected. And you need to have the idle at about 750rpm I believe. I'm not sure if anything else needs to be set, but thats all it says in the Helms(not designed for partially assembled motors though).
