distributor help??

Default distributor help??

I have an internal mounted coil in my dizzy but all the auto parts stores around here say that my h22a1 should have an external mounted dizzy. how do I get the cap and rotor I need?

rotor is the same, ask for a cap from a 00 civic si, that will work with the internal coil distributor.

should I switch to the stock external or would it fine as is??

If you switch to a stock external distributor set up, your going to need an external coil as well, not to mention the distributor.

Pros and Cons

Pros
External coil is further away from heat source that can cause failure
They are easier to get warrientied and replaced in america

Cons
Its about 400 bucks for a brand new set up

but what about aftermarket, dosent msd only work with external?, i think mines internal?

i say this b.c the coil seems to be under the cap and thats how it was in my gf's integra so no msd for me :[

you will probably never make enough horsepower or RPMs to need MSD.

yeah b.c you know all about the fully built h22 im having built and turboed sitting right next to my prelude right?

You might need a MSD, but the OP and 95 percent of the whole entire fourm doesnt.

I personally wont buy a MSD unless my OEm fails

wasnt talking about you...
But stock ignition systems are very good, most people who buy msd have no real use for it.
