Distibutor Problems?! help asap.
Alright so i recently have started playing around with installing an msd coil and cap on to my h22 on the lude (external coil stock). But have not been succesful, so wired it back up just as normal and now im getting no spark whatsoever, have checked, double checked and triple checked the wires. Any help is greatly appreciated guys.
Is it possible to fry an coil or distributor by messing with wires?

Check your ignition control module inside the distributor, I tried hooking up an msd coil and had the same problem I ended up buying a new oem coil.
Alright realisticly i have no problem buying a new distributor now. But will this fix the problem?? or could there be other problems?
you don't have to buy a whole new dizzy, just do what young_tuner mentioned and get a new ignition control module. You just have to take the cap off, and you'll see where a couple little wires are running. That'll be the ignition module you'll need to replace. I think there's 2 or 3 phillips little phillips head screws you'll need to take out. You can pick a new one up from Auto Zone or possibly O Riley's for around $60-$80

you can test the coil and icm.
take the coil wire off of the cap and stick a spark plug in it .
lay the plug against the head or intake, make sure it has a good ground.
turn the key on so that the coil has power.
Quickly tap the icm signal wire to chassis ground and you should see a spark on the spark plug.
There is a more detailed guide for testing in the msd 6A box trouble shooting guide.

Alright so the coil is good, had a friend at autozone that tested it in his car. *Fired right up*. So whent through him and orderd a complete dizzy. Should be in tomorrow morning. Got my fingers crossed this will finally end.. Soooo $110 for a new ICM, $40 for msd cap and rotor, and $160 for replacement (reman) dizzy, i think ive learned not to mess with ignition unless you know exactly what you are doing...
Haha exactly and actually i will probably end up using the msd still anyways. and selling the spare icm. So i will only come out spending $170 for the dizzy. Not bad and a learning experience.
