Debate about A/C
Okay, this isn't really a "debate" but more of a search. I was pretty sure that the A/C disengages itself when the car is at WOT...does anyone know anything different? This is why I always thought it stupid to take the a/c out of the car, because it doesn't necessarily give you a lot of power, just makes you hot...I don't know, but can someone clear this up for me?

Yeah if it disengages at WOT it would be a waste, but it does remove a lot of weight.

I remember reading somewhere that the AC disengaged, but now I just read up on the AC on the 92lude.com manual, and I can't find anything about it. I also was looking at the wiring diagrams for the AC system, and there's is nothing that I see connected to the TPS or anything, so I doubt that it shuts off.
Well, I doubt it's supposed to shut off... mine shuts off sometimes no matter what I'm doing, then I have to slap it until it starts working again.

from what i have heard the pulley is free spinning when the clutch is disengaged. So removing it doesn't free up alot of parasitic drag (when its not on), however the weight to be saved is a decent amount. I don't use mine so i removed it to save some weight.
I removed my compressor and the bracket and i can say just those alone weighed a considerable amount. I'll be removing the condenser, lines and evaporator when i get a chance.

I may complete it when i remove the lines, but i had to get to work so i stopped taking pics when i got about halfway through removing the compressor. I'll more than likely finish it.
