You going to fill in the holes with gunk, sand it down and repaint it...Thats if you want it to look nice. But I'm sure you can find the gunk at Homedepot

Fill w/ bondo, sand down, repaint w/ touch-up spray. For any holes bigger than a badge, though, I would recommend welding it up.

LOL ! Do you think a really good buffing could help it out instead of repainting?

The alcohol probably hazed the clearcoat, Id compound that **** out. Try that before you take it to a body shop.

instead of rubbing alcohol use something called GooGone
it's made for getting glue off of things without messing up finishes

when i did mine it was as if the clearcoat was put over the edges of the letters or something really odd, because when i got the letters off there were raised edges around where the letters were and you could still see the prelude. I tried some goo-gone to wipe it down but it took a few small peices of paint off under where the P was (not the goo-gones fault, but the fact the raised edge came off and took some paint with it)

That was probably the glue; if some kind of paint-safe solvent won't work, looks like you can try sanding it w/ fine sandpaper.

Buffing it did help for the most part, I was only kidding about repainting, but it did suck when it happened. Plus the honda shop i take my car to decided to buff my whole car and they actually ate through the paint on the roof and trunk, i guess from keeping the buffer on one spot too long, so i think i do have to repaint it now, it kinda looks like poo

i had goo-be-gone and didn't even use it to debadge mines. i just rubbed all the adhesive off with my finger. it took longer but it came out clean. oh yeah try using dental floss or some fishing line to help pull off the p-r-e-l-u-d-e sticker on the bumper.

My car has this beautiful swirl all over because my buffer ate thru the paint. And I have been buffing for a couple of years! I should have never bought a black car...
By the way, did you guys ever think of heating up the glue to remove it...?

never ever use a buffing machine to wax your car. i suggest doing it manually by hand. my pops ruined his car by using a buffing machine. just like washing my car, i would never ever take it through a drive through wash. so why would you use a machine to buff? it's all logic ya heard! do it by hand.

I'm sorry, but I just cringe when I hear about people using touch-up paint. Maybe I don't know about post finishing stuff, but I would really recomend that those kind of things are done by a body shop when you get other work done. I'd rather have a badge there then a bunch of orange peel.

True, but most people aren't looking to pay for labor plus repainting a trunk lid or front bumper to JUST have the badge removed. For a simple mod like this, just fillin the hole and touching up the small area is generally ok. But if i had the money, i would also get it done professionally.
