I went to a muffler shop today and they quoted me $120!! to install my DC header.. I had bought it used and it didnt come with any gaskets so they said id need all new ones. I thought a header install would be less than $50?? Can i reuse all my stock gaskets for the DC header and anyone know of a shop that will charge less in Orange County area.. BTW i have a 98 base..

 

sounds about right on the price bro, a place in my area in FLorida wanted 130$ for a header/test pipe install. I was forced to pay the price just because I didnt have enough resources to put it in myself, when I tried to put it in all the bolts were rusted out and everything so good luck if your going to do it yourself

grab a friend, grab some tools, grab a snickers. might take you awhile

 

Air tools are definitely good to have when removing rusted out bolts. Try and borrow a compressor or see if you can rent one from some place in your area.
Then you will be able to get those damn bolts out real quick.

If I was you, I'd put that header in myself. 100 bucks is way too much money to drop on a header instal! All you need pretty much are some rachets.

 

Thats a good price tho..I have to get a new front pipe and they said the ywould order one and install it for me and it was 340 or 360..i was like **** son

 

I put my header in last week by myself with a friend. It took a while, but it payed off. You can get the gaskets at auto-zone, and about the rusted bolts, get an electric saw, buy some blades that are designed to cut through metal and cut that bitch off like it's your job.

 

I got mine installed about $60. Local shop in SOCAL. Right on Nogales and Valley in Rowlands.
