Dash lights!
Over the past few night drives, I have cruised with only the numbers of my dash lit up. I could not see the needles for temp, speed, RPM...
So now, just recently, I decided to disassemble my dash. I found out above the cluster is a large blue reflector area, upon further investigation, I found 2 very, very small light bulbs.
They did not appear burnt up, but they were also way to small to examine, plus I was running out of daylight. I plugged the bulbs into the dash corners, where other sockets were found (these I knew were blown). They still did not light up, however.
After all of this, my question is, does the dash light up properly, or am I wasting my time? I am aware this question is rather stupid. I assume the bulbs are blown.. but I have never seen one of these cars lit up. I hope to replace the overhead bulbs, and be able to see my gages properly.

well as far as the dash lighting up properly the needles should light up iam having a similar problem except mine is my rear tail light fuse pops leaving me with out and lights in the dash or tail light and i think my problem is in the combination switch that you turn the lights on with
I have a similar problem to your description. No fuse blows or anything, but upon turning on headlights, dash, clock, and taillights go off. I have to barely adjust the headlight turn lever until all lights come back on. It is very odd.
Well, I dunno if its the answer, but the 4th gen climate control issue similar to this was due to old solder connections cracking. this was remedied be re-soldering them. Like I said, dunno if thats it, but knowledge is power right?
Theres a dash brightness control unit behind the dash tht likes to go out. When this does itll leave you with you dash lights and tail lights but your headlights will still work. Its kinda a pain to get to so i went around it by wiring my tail light fuze to something else. ill take a look tonight and let you guys know for sure how i wired around tht thing.
Alright took a look at wht i did and i spliced into the tails in the rear as close to the lights as i could and then ran a wire up to my headlight fuse. After that tails worked again and so did dash lights only thing is u have no control on the dash brightness. no big for me cause i run them as bright as i can anyways. Hope tht help you guys!!
