Default Dash light conversion

I have a 94 lude and got a new cd player that is backlit red and am wanting to change the colors on my gauges to red. Can I just go to red bulbs or what is this thing I hear about film?

i'm not sure if your model has the electro luminecent gauges that are on the 95 and 96. if so you can use fild to modify thefactory green film. with 2 layers of blueon the gauges you get a nice blue. for the gas and temp gauges i beleave they are the same on all 4th generations, you can add a layer of purple so it lights up blue without being blurry.

so red is out of the question - purple or blue would be the best to shoot for.

if you don't have the electro luminecent gauges then i beleave you can change the bulbs behind the gauges.

hope this helps

You can also put in some led's or take the face off and eliminate the green film that it has, and then put some red tint in there.

If you don't have the EL cluster the just put in some LED's.
If your gauges light up bright green and the needles bright red then you have EL, if not then u don't

Well do this, take apart the gauges and take the face (where the numbers are) and use some kind of alcohol or acetone an remove the green tint and just put some red tint behind that. PM me if you need help.

Not really, just don't use window film or anything like that, just get the tint that people use to tint their rear lights etc.

I was thinking if I strip the original film will it be clear or a white-ish color? And if it was clear or white couldnt I just change the bulbs then or will it not look right. Just a thought.

It will be a white color bu you can't change the bulb to a red one because I don't think they make that type of bul in red because it aint no regular bulb, you'll see, just use the tint method, if you dont like the outcome well put in LED's
