Custom Wheels!!!????
Ok, what i'm trying to do is find in formation about companies that ar small shops that design or make Rims. i have beeen searching the web for about 2 hours looking and nothing is coming up. i get plenty of places to buy rims but no where that makes them. my question is does any of you guys out there know one or two in your area.
Thanks man, i didn't think about those sites.. I got a design(drawing) that i wanted them to take a look at.. i'll post it when i get home from work to see what you guys think
Hey is just a sketch of what i'm gonna put into a 3D so so i could at least see what its gonna look like fully.. until they you guys are gonna have to use your imagination.
just did it real quick with a pencil then went over it with a fine tip marker.. so be gentle with the criticism.
wow the pic is bigger than i thought..

and just letting you know.........custom wheels are pretty $$$
cause you need to have a mill that does em. i remember on one of those motorcycle custom shows in discovery channel. one rear rim cost him 15,000. granted its a much bigger rim overall.
you migth have to pay something along the lines of that for 4 rims custom made.

"how big is the actual diameter you want it to be? I coudl model it up in autocad"
i'm going for 15" 16" max. its worth talkin to someone and seeing what could be done.. maybe even market them if i'm lucky.. yeah i know they are going to be expensive as hell. right now i'm just doing research.

well they can always be made.....
but again, it will cost you just as much as that price or more.
if you market them...........you will have to find lots of ppl willing to buy.
casts aren't that cheap. making custom parts is nice for preludes. but it comes at a cost.
just ask jeremy (4bidden) and how much time / money he spent on his 4th gen shifters / cooling plates. and those aren't near the level of completity a rim would have.

That show was a biker build of on Discovery channel from 2 years ago. that rim was a non-standard size and milled from a billet chunk. the most expensive way to make a wheel, I think. If you watch some of the other shows, they press the center piece out of a smalled piece of billet then attach it to the lip of the rim. I believe it is a little cheaper, but still not cheap at all. Good luck with that.
