Ok, 98 Prelude 95k mi. I hear ticking coming from the intake manifol, a loud sucking sound coming from the cold air intake area, and some kind of rubbing from the timing belt. One of the lower belts has an area with discolor...I dont think its rubbing on the valve cover, not really sure. When I accelerate, I hear a hissing coming from somewhere, maybe the maifold? Anyone having any of the similar problems? Any ideas/ thoughts? Thanks!

 

First of all, your intake is supposed to suck.....that's it's job.

"Ticking" might be valve clatter - it happens; might want to look into getting them adjusted and make sure oil is ok.

Your timing belt could be rubbing on the pastic cover.

 

Honda just adjusted my valves...two weeks ago

 

Does it ever go away? Does it speed up with acceleration or stay pretty much constant?

Get its number! Set up a date!

Anyway, did you just get a CAI or SRI ?........if so, the vacuum is more noticeable with those.
