from another post by Corey.................................

Lets see, I'll keep it quick.. First of all, it was great to see the usual crowd again, but sorry to not see some guys (Scott, Brinson, ****...ect..) and miss others on the track (Jack, Alex, Phatty.....) We miss you guys..
Car understeered all weekend, eventually worked the rear tire pressures to 45 cold, and that still wasn't enough.. The only thing I changed since the enduro was rear camber, which instead of 0, is now -1.. So I think I am just getting the rear to hook up to much that way.. 1000lb springs in the rear isn't enough, I am going to buy 1200 and see how long it takes to blow the koni's out.. Also ran w/ NO front bar, loved it!

Car was getting faster and faster, as was I.. I am actually starting to like CMP now

I am now an absoulute Toyo fan, the only reason I unbolted a wheel this weekend was to change an axle, and thats it.. Raced on the same tires that were used on the enduro, so they already have 3.5 hours on them.. They seemed to fade less than the hoosiers, but very very slighly, and grip felt very the same.. I never knew some of those corners were so fast!

Brakes were excellent! When Andie said he wanted me to use a different pad other than the DS3000, I was quite reluctant to go w/ it.. I mean, I LOVED the DS3000, but Cobalt's GT-R (VR) (which is not another pad painted ) is nothing short of awesome.. Its much more linear than the DS3000, and even less rotor agressive (which the DS3000 was great at). I will have pics of my rotors/pads soon.. Pads only wore about 25% if that, and the biggest stress crack in the rotor is about a 1/4", not 3/4" like we normally get. All without ducting, no fade at all.. Also ran w/out ABS all weekend, rear brake lockup rules! I used w/ the Cobalt XRF fluid, still unbleed since the enduro...

Both races have tons of stories, from yellow flag incidents, to uprooting 4 pylons in T9 TWICE, catching the "school" of 944s, chad's 4 wheel off pass and more.. Was really a fun time, and can't ask for the car to do anymore than it did.. Thanks to Karl for working so DAMN hard all weekend, and to Andie, Heather, Becky and Nick for helping me all weekend

My track record last year 1:53.9xx
My track record this year 1:52.000 (sunday)

James's car is just sick fast! Keep those axles on
Props to R&D for the hard work on the hatchcraps, both were very fast!
John's car is damn purddy!!!
Robert dropping hella times!

See you guys at Beaver, with the same tires and brakes

Good job man. How in the hell are people breaking axles with under 200 whp? I'm assuming that it is during the turns but seriously what does it?

Its the angles of which the axles are run, if the knuckles sit to far back, or the motor/tranny sits to far forward, when you turn, they can bind up, and wear extremely fast..

Gotcha. Couldn't some modified motor mounts be used to position the tranny inline with the axles to reduce the angle?

hey Corey have you gotten any lap times at BeaveRun yet? I'm just wonding what I should be shooting for in my lude on that track. I just got back from a 3 day event up there. I didn't have any problems keeping up and passing any other honda/acrua 4 bangers with my prelude, but these were all HPDE drivers and I don't think any were true racers. Just like to get an idea what your lap times are.

On the other hand, the Vetts and Vipers had no problems owning me.

I think a swap would put you in H1 class.

it's the same chasis though, it'd be considered a "tub" swap if i remember correctly, which IS legal for H2
