Cooling Issues
Hey everyone, I have a problem but dont know what other options I have. My radiator blew up 3 days ago and I replaced it. Now, when I drive the car for about 10 minutes, the temperature starts to move up to hot. The weird thing is that when I turn the heater to max hot, the temp drops back down to normal. Today, I went and replaced the thermostat and the radiator caps and it still does it. I opened the radiator cap with the car on to bleed the air out already and nothing seems to be working. The funny thing is that after I drove the car, I opened the raditor cap slowly(yeah, i know i should do that) and there is ALOT (much much more than normal) of pressure inside the system. What would cause this? Also, anyone have any ideas what else I can do? Thanks for reading.
Thats not wierd its normal, when you run your heater it actually cools down your car instead. Not sure whats your problem though. Any white smoke coming out from your exhuast when you step on it?
Bleed it more from the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing, not the rad cap.
Your oil is not starting to look milky or anything is it?

I would let the car warm up to normal operating temperature.. and even wait till the lower radiator hose is at least warm.. then crack open the bleeder screw and watch a steady stream of coolant coming out from the screw and close it...
if you're still having overheating issues.. I would do a pressure check on the radiator cap if you havn't replaced that yet...
