Ok so I guess I am getting a new clutch now, but which one? ACT or Clutchmaster? Some people have told me the ACT is better...help me out...also what is the name of the ACT for a 97 base.

 

I've heard good and bad about ACT. I like my clutchmasters stage 3 for daily driving and driving hard.

 

..intend to use the car for? Are you putting down an ungodly amount of power?
Need a little more info, but regardless, you should know that ACT clutches are NOT new, they are refurbished stock clutches, none the less, many people that I know have used them w/out fail, anyway here are my recommendations:

Exedy
ACT Heavy Duty PP w/ stock disc

 

Clutchnet stage 2.

 

I have an ACT clutch in my car and I don't have any complaints about it. I can't really say anything bad about clutchmaster, cause I've never used one. My clutch grabs a hell of a lot better than my stock one did.

 

Go Tilton for high horsepower applications, ACT or Clutch Masters for all motor and or low boost applications(300-450 HP).
