i wanna clean my engine bay. i don't know what to cover up first before i spray the dam engine down wit water. i think electrical and air filter's right. is their anything else i should not spray

 

Avoid the distributer and any wireing harnesses allthough every wire conection in the engine bay is sealed type. I personally use soap and water (not a pressure washer) from a garden hose without a nozzle. As far as the filter is concered there is no way of water getting into you filter (UNLESS you have a short ram air filter In which you need to cover the filter)

 

And to finish it up, mag polish works wonders. My old manager did this to his 99 Civic Si's fuel rail, and anytime he popped the hood someone was bound to ask "what type of fuel rail is that?" All it was was a mag-polished factory fuel rail lol

i think all you have to cover is he distributor and the alternator.

 

but how about those things at 7-11 (gas station) where you can wash your car and it says "engine cleaner"? is that safe to use if you cover the alternator and the distributor?
