Default checking if CEL is working

how can I check if my cel isnt burnt out? it doesnt go on when i just turn the key to the 2nd 'on' position... but not all the lights do so I figured it was normal. Is the Cel supposed to come on?

the CEL will come on momentarily when you turn the key. It will also come on if you jump the service connector under the dash.

and, it will also come on if you, say, unplug the O2 sensor

edit: do you have a swap done?

yeah - shady shops will pull out the CEL on their customers cars after a swap, if they can't get something right.

Happens a lot.

Now I'm really paranoid... is it hard to replace that light bulb?
