Default Check Engine Light comes on randomly?

A week or so after I cleaned my EGR valve the MIL light has come on and not affected the car in anyway. When i got home to run the code, I jumped the blue service connector and the SRS light just kept flashing for over 120 times.

1994srv / jdmh22 / USDM ECU

Any ideas why it would pop up but not have a code stored?

Bump for curiosity, my SRS light has done the same thing before.

Have you done ANY electrical work to your car at all? Cutting wires, splicing, etc.?

My engine light would randomly flicker, sometimes I would just catch a hint of red it would flicker so fast, every now and then. My car started to smoke underneath my hood, so I went to go get the transmission checked out. Come to find out, I had almost no motor oil. Ugh.

It seems like it only comes on when the car is up to full operation temperature. My oil level is right below the top dot so It couldn't be that thankfully.

Anyone else?

I'm with Acid on this one, my SRS light tends to do it's own thing sometimes.

I am talking about the CEL. Check Engine Light.
the SRS light is what flashes when you pull a code.

Me too. Ive had my ecu cleared of all codes, then the cel would come on and my ABS light would blink instead. (sorry about saying it was the srs)

the cu stores the codes... so do the code checking procedure and this will point you in the right direction
