Check engine code question.

I have a '98 (not SH) check engine light came on VTEC no longer worked. Had someone pull the code, P1289, says Bank1 VTEC failure. He wasn't sure, said could mean O2 sensor or couple other things, I can't find anything on that code anywhere. The light will turn itself off after 4-5 days, only comes back on if get up to high RPM's at 60+ mph

anyone have any ideas? I can't find the code anywhere, Im a bit internet dumn....please help

All I could find was code P1298 High Voltage In ELD Circuit

Sorry bro the P1289 were other car makes. =/. So I really dont know what to tell you... Take it down to the Honda Dealership... see what they find.
