Default Changing IM

Hey everyone,
So this is my build that I am slowly piecing together:
-Portflow head package(Supertech Valves, Springs, Retainers)
-Skunk2 pro1 Cams
-Skunk2 pro Cam gears
-Euro R IM
-BDL 70mm TB
-ESP Header
-Custom 2.5" exaust
-stock JDM block(10.6CR)

Anyways I will be changing my mounts to Innovative or ESP ones soon and have to take my IM off. So I was thinking about putting the Euro R manifold and throttle body on while I have the OEM manifold off. I won't have the head built yet so I don't want to tune until I am completley done my build. I am curious whether or not puting the mainfold on before tuning will lose power or worse hurt my engine? Eventually I will do a full dyno tune but I would like to only have to pay once as I am poor!

Thanks for you help,
-Greg

I have a Euro R and 68mm TB on my stock internal motor, untuned. I've had it on for like 3 months with no problems. There was even a noticable power increase from it and the TB.

Good luck on the build.

you shouldn't run into any major problems. changing the im is a pita. if you have the option, i would wait to get the head done and then do it all at once. be careful of the knock sensor when you're messing around with the im too.

Sounds good. I plan on buying it a few months before getting the head done and I doubt I'll be able to look at it everyday and not put it on! Anyways thanks for the quick responses!

hey canuck, welcome to H-T!

Yeah, just wait and tune it when its all finished.

That im shouldn't do any harm without a tune. You might run a bit lean, but being your odb1 your ecu might compensate anyway would it not?
