Default cel code 43: what to do?

93 prelude vtec; After engine degrease to rinse it off. Start the engine and it starts to bog like there is not enough spark or fuel. Let everything dry and found that there is water inside the well of spark plug hole number 2. Clean water out and it's still does the same. Is there anything else i need to look or check for with cel code 43. Thanks

Its usually your o2 sensor, but since it started after washing the engine bay, check for loose connections at the o2 or frayed wires. If the wires look good then replace the o2 with a new one. i have had bad experiences with bosch o2's on hondas, try and get a denso, ntk, or walker.

Universal Bosch O2 sensor on ebay for $26.99 shipped from a seller named evalero(I believe). Just have to wire your sensor plug on to it. Even comes with the "butt connectors". Just bought one last week.

So maybe you just need to shorten up the wires in order to use a bosch universal and not get code 43 back. Good luck

If your having issues after cleaning the engine after water was found in the spark plug well, get new plug wires, I had this happen, and that's all it was. My wires were old enough to need to be replaced anyway.

any more info on this code....

i get a CEL 43 about 1-2x per month.

& i have a funny idle...sometimes its fine & other times it will slowy rise to just about 1k then fall to around 300 & then go back to normal for a sec & the start to slowly climb again

Sometimes its hard to start too...
things i've done/tried.

new 02 (denso)
put on a Fuel pressure gauge & the FPR looks to be working fine.
new plugs (NGK)
new wires (NGK)
new Cap
using a walbro 255
new fuel filter

we've plated with the IAC but my friend still thinks it might be the IAC or the fast idle on the throttle body.

vacuum leak???
we are running out of ideas.

would the length of the wires on the denso O2 really make that much of a difference?

i'm going to switch to a chipped P28 insetad of the P13 i'm using now...my car ran & idled better on my friends chipped p28...but there is still something wrong cause my friends H22 EG idles perfect on that chip & mine still floats around.
