Default Is this causing my Shifting issues? PICS

I have been having issues with my clutch lately and have been trying to pinpoint the problem before replacement. The problem is that once the car is all warmed from me driving around a bit it seems like the clutches engagement point moves. For instance when I first start it up before the motors at full operating temps and Take off it drives fine, But after driving for awhile its hard to take off because of the point of engagement. Its almost like it turns into a stage 3 clutch. I have to let off the clutch ENTIRELY or the car with start to jerk so hard itll seem like the motors trying to hop out of the car. Once I am moving everything is okay but its like hell when I'm in traffic. There really isnt any "Easing" off the clutch at this point, Its either go or sit. The clutch somewhat new, probably 1000 miles on it. One thing I will add though is that one of the bolts that go through the tranny into the block under the starter stripped out and there seems to be a small gap between the tranny & block. My question is could this be causing my shifting issues?

yes that can be causing the problem. make sure all the other bolts are tight, and you might want to look into heli-coiling the stripped bolt so you can install it again

Even with that stripped bolt below the starter, the transmission should never have a gap like that. I bet that the transmission is not lined up properly and or maybe the main shaft didn't correctly line up with the clutch perfectly. Did you have any issues with lining it up when you changed the clutch on it? It should slide into position and line up with the dowel pins that are on the transmission itself. If you have the time I would take it all back apart check the work done on the new clutch, make sure its not compromised in any way or needing to be replaced and like motoxxxman said heli-coil the stripped bolt.

First I would like to thank you guys for taking the time to reply. Yes I had trouble mounting the tranny to the block. I have the H22a Type S motor with the Atts and had issues getting it to mate evenly due to the part of the tranny that goes into the atts unit. I know I installed the clutch correctly and it was brand new when I put it on. I just wanted to make sure that this could be causing my shifting issues before I take it all back apart.

helicoil is what I always prefer.

sucks your clutch went out. I'd guess the tranny being gapped like that is what caused it

I think when you put the tranny on there you didn't get the dowel pins inserted correctly. I bet they are bent and that's causing that gap in the tranny

You will know when you pull the tranny.

Good morning
Unfortunately your only recourse right job is to pull it apart and take inventory.

Hard to think that one of what, 10 large, long tranny bolts being stripped is keeping the case from fully closing. When I put my tranny in with half the bolts in that sucker was shut. Something isn't lined up and could be ruining other components.

My clutch kept changing engagement points on me until it locked me fully out of gear. I found the clutch fork broken, or should I say the pivot ball stud had broken most of the way through the fork. No clue how, but u may want to inspect every last part. Uneven casing probably cause failure or premature wear in other places.

It's a bitch of a job to have to do more than every so often, so be diligent.
