Car Turned Off - Solid CEL - Starter Sticking
Background - JDM H22 Swap in a 92 Prelude S w. F22 Tranny.
New Distro Cap/Rotor/Wires/Plugs
I was driving to go get the tint finished for my car after inspection and the car just shut off and threw a oil light when it turned off. I was able to pull over to an 84 Lumber.
Anyway...I checked the oil and seals and it wasnt leaking anywhere and the oil level was fine.
The car would not start back up and the Starter would not crank the engine over. It would just make a "eeeeeeeeeeee"
My and my pops checked the crank and rotated the engine so we know it isnt seized up.
I had JUST advanced the ignition timing on it by moving the distributor a lil over towards the firewall.
When i tried to pull a code from the ECU...it gives me a SOLID CEL. Which i guess would be the ECU?
Nothing happened to the ECU physically and i checked all the connections and solders and the ECU looked fine from what I could see.
I do have a spare P12 laying around. DO you fellas have any suggestions on what this might be...I'm leaning towards distributor, starter, or the ECU. I'm having alot of trouble as of late and I'm gonna get the 05' RSX Type S if i cant this bitch on the ground again.

It is the ECU or power to the ECU.
You can try the other ECU if you want. I would check the back up fuse first. Then I would check the main relay.
Other than that I would have to look in my book.

Would that cause the car to completely shut off then not crank the engine over as well?
I'll try the ECU on my next trip home for break.

Any idea on the solid ECU code I'm getting? I searched for this code and only came up with one result...which the last post in that thread I believe was "...do the matrix." from Lean With it Rock with it. yikes....
Solid cel means no power to the ECU. No cel means no cel is being thrown. Shinobi is talking about the CEL staying lit and not flashing.
I will try to look it up the how to trouble shoot a solid cel for you when I get home. THere are alot of diffrent things it says that I can't remember.
I know the Main(Mitsuba) relay will cause your car to shut off but the car should crank over(I think). It also sends power to the fuel pump. (under dash near stearing column)
I am not sure about the back up fuse. It seams like I would cause the car to cut off because it is where your power for the ECU comes from and cause your car not to crank. (Fuse block on drivers side, inside)

weird. my vtec solenoid came unplugged so i was throwing code 21. i plugged it back in reset ecu and jumped the plug to check and c if the code was still there and it gave me a solid cel. so i took out my paper clip and the cel was gone. vtec worked fine. so in my sit solid cel ment no cel. odd but upallnite i pmd you got a question about that main relay.

Thanks..I'll check the backup fuse. I may have a short somewhere that may have caused this...I noticed that my dash lights were really low at night with the lights on. Hmm...
