Default which cams to get

i got a 98 lude base(daily driver) and i was wonderin which cams yall think are a good choice to go wit?

Depends on your budget and desired power. For a daily driver, Crower stage 1's are a good choice. 15-20whp gains. No need to upgrade the rest of the valvetrain

Why would cams decrease performance at VTec? Just wondering how you conclude that?

Well, VTEC is essentially a separate pair of cam lobes, designed for high RPMs.. I don't know if these are replaced with cams or not though, or if they are separate.

the vtec lobe is on the cam....its not like its a separate piece or something. The middle lobe is the vtec lobe. On a performance cam, that lobe is bigger.

^^ those arnt much better then stock.....they are the same as type s cams i think? correct me if im wrong.
