A/C problem
I searched around the forums and seen the common problem with fourth gens and the climate control.
Well my A/C is not working at all, the reason i'm posting this is that when i hit the A/C button it lights up green but i also notice that the rear defroster light comes on. It doesn't light up fully though, just dim, (if i press it on it will light up fully).
I looked at the circuit board and didnt see any loose connections so im slightly confused here.
Anyone ever experience this or know what it could be?

I have the same problem as does my buddy with a 4th gen. it took me several years to figure out how to make it work. you take the black cubby above the cd player out, and stick your hand back there and hold the wiring harness up, hoding into the plug. this will make a better connection & kick the AC compressor on.
-but I still can't figure out how to fix it. Iv tried tying it up, dielectric grease on connection.. it buggs the **** out of me dude. i have to hold the wiring harness while i drive if i want ac.

hey, Lewdin'Incognito-
just for the record, I have had a problem with the AC button since I've owned the car going on six years now. Have seriously seriously debated taking the whole system out.. but damit when it works it works good~!
appreciate the links. I've actually tried taking it apart b4 and got no where.
hopefully this solves all my problems and i can feel 'cool' once again.

I recently bought a '92 prelude with an H23 swap and orginally the owner said the A/C didn't work. When I would turn then A/C on the compressor would not even kick in. Well finally i got the compressor to kick in but then, I had it flushed, you know the whole ordeal you have to do with R12. And I'm putting a can or R12 in and im reading the pressure and the blow off valve releases at 120 psi which this made me curious because isn't that valve supposed to handle dangerous amounts of pressure you know up to 3, 4, even 500 psi til it blows. I just need some opinions on whether i should replace the whole unit, or if it is possible to just replace the blow off.

I've had an air conditiong problem with mine since i've had the car, 7 years. The link above ^^^ explains how to solder the points on the circuit board, which FINALLY I now have Cold Ac, all the buttons work, & it's niiice.
So THANK YOU Lewdin' Incognito
so the 4th gen CC boards must just lose connection after awhile. I couldn't get the cable back on right though. just left it off stuck on cold. hah Just solder the points on it and it works like new.

No problem, glad to hear everything worked out.
That cable is a royal PAIN to put back on, but it will go eventually.
