Burning oil
Hi guys,
just bought my first car a week and 2 days ago. It's a canadian-spec '90 Prelude SR 4ws (2.1L) with 175,000kms on it. I just drove it 2000kms in the past two days, and in that period of time I've burned 8 liters (8 quarts) of oil. The confusing part is that I can't figure out where the oil is going. There is no blue smoke at all, no soot on the bumper around the muffler, and the engine itself is clean, with no oil leaks. Has anyone else had this, or is this an easy fix? I'm pretty much broke now as I had to tow it to the dealer to replace the rotor in the distributor that spun, and I also replaced the timming belt while I was there.
Any ideas on where it's going, and/or what I need to do to fix it?
Thanks,
Ben

<TT>Thanks for the quick reply.
How much would this run me? Is this the most cost effective way to solve the preblem?
If anyone could tell me more about the 2.1L that would be appreciated too, I can find too much about it on the net.

Thanks for the help guys.
For the B20 swap, is it a fairly straightforward swap, or do they use the same motor mounts, tranny, is the wirring simple too or is there need for lots of cutting and pasting?
Secondly, would I be gaining power with this swap or staying the same? I have 140hp now, correct?

Yep, same motor mounts, existing tranny. Motor is seriously a direct replacement.
You'll swap manifolds for emissions, wiring will stay the same... it won't take longer than a weekend to do it. Pull old motor out, put new one in.
I'd advise to do timing belt, water pump, plugs, and some other misc. things like that as well.
