Bent valve??????????
Ok...THe other day i was noticing that i was having quite a bit of clatter coming for under the hood. I figured it was a good time for a valve adjustment. So i pulled the car in the shop and adjusted the valves. I had noticed that most of the clatter was coming from cylinder #2. So when i got to adjusting that valve, I noticed that it was off quite a bit. I could get a .012 feeler gauge under it. So i tightend them up to spec ( which i am not sure of because i am running Type-S cams, so i just set them to USDM spec) They were quieter than before when i cranked it back up, but #2 was still loud. I have been noticing the car missing when it idles and some when you take off with the motor cold. But what i dont understand is, my car runs really good to possibly have a bent valve. What could be making that noise in the valves? Bent valve or not. I ran a compression test, there wasnt much difference. I know i need to do a leak down, but are there any other signs that i can look for. I am going to change the oil and start running Moble1 10w-30 in it. i just want the valves to be quiet and get this thing straight.
