Battery relocated.
very nice, and clean.
im about to do this. i have that same battery box
how is the battery box being held down in the trunk??
and can you list all the parts you used, where you got them, size of wire, and where you grounded the battery in the trunk???
thanks a lot
nice DIY
EDIT: i own a 3rd gen prelude, and in order to put in my custom cold air i gota remove the battery, and relocate, what are your reasons for doing this??

I got the summit racing kit. The box that is supplied with the kit is too large. I went to my local hardware store and got the box pictured.
-I used the existing stock battery tray and welded it to the sheet metal (not recommended as the sheet metal is very thin and if the welder it too hot you'll get holes.) I recommended bolting the tray down, I put a couple of bolts for added security.
-The cable supplied with the summit racing kit is heavy duty stuff, good wire.
-I used the existing stock tie down bar to essentially secure the battery to the tray and box.
All in all is more a custom job than anything else. As Corey says use your head and take your time.
Oh and I routed the cable throught the fire wall via the removal of the evaporator box, feed the cable throught the smaller of the two holes, then tied down the cable, then put the evaporator back in works perfectly.

The negative (-) is grounded to the frame in the trunk not outside but inside its a really good ground.
Oh and the purpose of the project is to get weight off the nose of the car. Hopefully to make the Prelude Nationally STS competitive.

i did the same thing. i temp. have my battery in the same spot...question is, shouldn't we put it in the center of the trunk somewhere. i mean putting it in the back helps the 50/50 weight thing, but what about side to side?
now 2 things had me try it there first. 1. the driver is on the other side of the car, which should help even it out. and 2. it was on that side in the front from the factory. just wanted others opion's

I would like input on this too, I have mine mounted in the middle of the trunk in the same box. Another point tho, I believe to be legal for racing. A relocated battety has to have
1. A sealed box with appropriate venting tubes.
2. A clearly marked electric cut out switch.
Just things I have read in some rule books.
This my not apply to windows down racing. Just things to think about

ya you are supposed to have a kill switch outside the car. i dont understand why though. i mean whats the difference where the battery is, if the car need to be shut down
Why did you put it past the axle? I would of thought you'd want to install it in front or on the axle to have the weight in an easier place to rotate. I would of put it against the trunk wall as the main reason why you want to move the weight out of where it is originally is because it's so far past the front axle and not solely because it's in the front. Though that is an extra benifit!

what turns off the power when its under the hood. it works exactly the same, no matter where the battery is.

Yup, judging from the pics..he no longer has AC.
I bet it is because he autoXs his car.
