My back end in my 91 lude is jumpy or hoppy if i go over a bump manhole it jumps around on me and if i go over a thing of sand the *** end just says i feel like kicking out and slideing. im thinking its the rear suspencion but ive never encountered this problem with FWD the rear tires also need an aliginment they sit like this \\___// with the tread wareing on the outter tread.. could this be also part of the problem? cause right now im feeling like this guy --->

The castor/camber of your tires/wheels is out (virtical plane). Not alignment. Alignment is how essentially parallel the tires are to eachother on the horizontal plane.

and yes thats going to reduce traction, you only have a percentage of the tire gripping on the road.

Sounds like your shocks are fuked or something. I'd take pictures of your suspension and post so we can look at laugh at how fuked your car is; and than later tell you whats wrong of course :D

The wheels should have some minor negative camber, but never positive. has the rear suspension been modified?

Check the trailing-arm bushings. Sounds like you may need new ones. Also check alignment.

First, wheels should be perpendicular from the ground. If back end is sagging, then struts are shot and probably springs as well. Replacement isn't too difficult, but the parts are medium priced. You can also raise the rear end of the car on a jack. Try to twist the tire left and right (like the steering) and up/down. The car weighs 3000 pounds, so you should not be able to move much. Be suspicious of any slack or play - watch for loose ball joints and chewed up bushings. All can be replaced at home, but you will want to make sure you get a 4 wheel alignment when done.

You can also take it to a shop, but take your glycerin tablets as the estimate will likely cause heart palpitations. On my 93 Si, I just replaced all front end ball joints, upper control arms, and rear end hub assembly as well as tie rod ends and center and struts on the rear... Oh, and the front motor mount. Parts cost $1000 plus an $80 alignment and it took about 6 hours total by my self with only standard tools box tools (no special widgets). The shop wanted nearly $3000 to do the same.

i just did for it to pass the upper ball joints off the control arms and replace the worn rears... parts were cheap my shop was cheap too... they watned to replace the control arms because the joints were bad but when i told them they bolt up it was wicked easy.
