b21 Vtec
Been tried. I have never heard of a successfully running car with VTEC actually working. And I am quite sure none have been dynoed. Also don't confuse the newer B20 with the old 3rd gen Prelude B20 which is often referred to as the bastard "B". It has almost nothing in common with other B Series engine. They use the same cam gears and from there they have little in common.
you need to use the new b20 that comes in the CRV. slap a gsr head on there and you should be good to go. my friend and i actually had to take the head to a machine shop to have new head bolt holes drilled. amoung other custom things.
So you have done a new B series engine in a 3rd gen? Hmm.. I talked to a guy that did it and it was a total pain in the ***. Everything was custom. If you really have done this swap then tell me what mounts you use? Stock 3rd gen mounts. And the B18 or whatever just dropped right in? Right on.

tom ( ludespeed ) got it working, but it was VERY unreliable ( kept blowing headgaskets i think ) plus he had to have a custom header, head gasket, and even mounting the head on the block was completely off.
the so called " bastard " b from the prelude has more in common than just cam gears, like clutch and flywheel, tranny, and possibly other things that no one has tested, but those are the only things so far that have been tested and worked.
you can put on a VTEC head, but its not worth it and the one guy who did make it work, it wasnt very reliable. the ludespeed webpage shoudl tell you all about it.
if you have seen or know someone who has successfully swapped in another B motor like a b16/18/20 let me know, i definitely want to know what they went through to complete that

Just an FYI. I don't think Tom ever got vtec to work. He claimed that he could but did not want to spend the time. He did drive the car to NOPI Nationals from FL with the VTEC head on. However, VTEC WAS NOT WORKING AT THE TIME.
