Hey guys,
Looking to replace my axles in the next week or two. Looking for oem replacement however I was wondering what you guys heard/knew about the DSS level 0 axles.

Should I go with OEM or DSS axles comparable or better quality without any fitment issues?
Car is 1996 honda prelude vtec.
Also any tips or tricks with replacing the axles for this model specifically would be a plus.
Thank you,

One problem I came across was trying to get the new passenger side cv axle into the tranny socket. One way to do it is place the axle inside the socket as far as you can go and then straighten out the joint and bang the end with a rubber mallet. I bought some oem replacements, i believe remanufactured, and it ran smooth like butter.

I just set the axle in the tranny with the open end of the snap ring facing completely down with a lil bit of oil on the snap ring..then pop it in with the bottom of my foot at the axle socket while im sitting on my butt.
to get it out I use one of the middle two pry bars here... http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ier=84243_0_0_ to pop it out. It comes out with ease.

Just for anyone thinking of buying re-maned axles, they could be weaker than oem. The Prelude used bigger spiders in the CV joint than other cars, even the Accords that are identical otherwise.
Most times I would take a junkyard Prelude axle with good cv boots, than a remanned one. There are guys making 600+ whp drag racing with stock axles, and not breaking them, when integras and civics with 200 whp break DSS axles.
