Default Automatic Shifting

Can anyone guess why I can shift from D to N to R while going down the highway doing 40 WITHOUT pressing the brake? Ever since I bought the car I can shift and it's never happened but the shifter could get hit from D to R by accident and not stop itself and lock like it should at N. Works the same way from R to D, I can shift and dont have to push the brake. Im reading through the HELMS but cant seem to find the exact problem.

I believe that the brake is only needed to shift out of Park. You can slap it from D to N but you have to pressing in the shift button to go into R. I've tested this myself on mine when I first got it, parking lot. It is just like how you can go from D4 to D3 without any issues but have to press the button to go to 2nd and 1st. But that is how it is on my 4th gen.
