apexi v-afc controller
i recenly purchased a 98 prelude type SH. it has an apexi vafc controller installed in it and i am trying to figure this thing out. anyone have knowledge of any settings or do i need to take it to a local tuner shop and have them tune it? it was bouncing from 1.5 rpm to 2k rpm but i managed to change he sensor numbers and now have it running at a flat 1k. but i am lost when it comes to changing the wide open throttle and narrow throttle or what settings are best. it is an older version of he vafc so i am having a hard time finding a manual on it.
thank you for any help you can provide.

It's not a good idea to attempt to tune it without a wide band O2 sensor. Best thing to do is look at the ECU and hopefully the previous owner shelled out the extra money for a plug and play adapter harness. If he did use a P&P harness just unplug the VAFC till you can get a dyno tune. A lot of people on here might give it a
, but might as well use it since it was free and already installed. Worst case scenario if its hardwired to the ECU I wouldn't recommend running it too hard till you can at least get someone experienced with it to check all your settings. As far as I/H/E, the VAFC in going to work fine.

for any series mods the VAFC is not a very good option. I'm not exactly sure what the options for SHs are these days, I believe the greddy Emanage is one though, which would be much better than the VAFC

Thank you for the advice, i will have to check out the ECU and see if there is an adapter and unplug it. If not i guess i will will run around taking it easy until i can get to the tuner shop.
Since i am not running turbo do i still need a wide band AF guage or will a normal AF gauge work??

if your engine is not heavily modified, and you don't have a wideband to tune, leave all the fuel settings at "0"

if you have idle problems with all fuel settings at 0, you have a problem elsewhere, do NOT try to fix it with the afc..
