alright, so im looking to buy myself a car, as a second car to get my crx off the road, one car i came across is a 1990 Honda prelude, only problem with it is the alternator, i was wondering how hard it is to replace the alternator myself.
the car is being sold for cheap enough that it is still worth it to have to buy a new alternator

 

its very easy if you have basic mechanic skills and tool set. You can do it with just a set of metric sockets, rachets, extensions

 

alright cool. yea i have BASIC mechanic skills and a decent ratchet and socket set. so i think for 499 plus the cost of an alternator is a good deal for a 90 prelude if thats all thats wrong with it.
i have a couple other cars I'm taking into consideration though

 

i would make sure that the car works after replacing the alternator before buying it.

 

well the car works now, but he states it needs a new battery or alternator soon.
