Default Airbag Replacement

Hi all,
My car is 1995 Si Prelude and I was in a accident and both airbags deployed. Anyone here replaced airbags before? Any instruction how to do it?
Thanks for your feedback.
Jason

pain in the ***, because you have to replace all the sensors.....not just swap in new bags

i'd look for a dash swap for the ones with out a passenger air bag.......and maybe a dc2 type r steering wheel without airbag

if you were gonna have to spend money anyway

what sensors? I just replaced the bags hooked 'em up and ran it. the driverside there are 2 6 point star bolt(I recommend buying the right bit that fits) and the pass. has 4 bolts holding it on above the glove-box...
Sorry no pics of the pass. side

good luck in your next accident........im gonna write some direct quotes from one of my manuals

"The system is NOT repairable at home"
"The system must be checked after ANY frontal accident, even if the system did NOT deploy"
"the sensors and control module are behind the dash board"

not to mention these are first generation air bags which are known to have a higher chance of actually harming you in an accident because of the speed of deployment

there is a reason that repair costs are usually around $1500 per bag.......it's a sensitve system that requires special diagnostic tools to check and ensure proper function

go to the junk yard and find one in a prelude, that's what I did, ended up paying about $40 for it (steering wheel included)

"The system must be inspected by a Honda dealer 10 years after the date of manufacture as shown on the certification plate. Note that this build date will be earlier than your actual purchase date."

trust it if you want to though
